วันที่ 2 – 6 ต.ค. 2559 พระโสภณวชิราภรณ์ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายกิจการต่างประเทศ รักษาการผู้อำนวยการวิทยาลัยพระธรรมทูต มอบหมายให้ พระมหาชะเอม สุวีโร, ผศ. ผู้ช่วยอธิการบดีฝ่ายกิจการต่างประเทศ พร้อม คณะผู้บริหาร มจร เป็นผู้แทนพระสงฆ์ไทยเถรวาท ร่วมงานประชุมชาวพุทธนานาชาติ โดยการเชิญของรัฐบาลอินเดีย ณ ประเทศอินเดีย โดยในการประชุมนี้มีผู้เข้าร่วมประชุมกว่า 300 รูป/คน จาก 39 ประเทศ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อประชาสัมพันธ์การท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรม โดยมีพุทธศาสนสถานเป็นยุทธศาสตร์ในการขับเคลื่อน โดยมีรัฐมนตรีวัฒนธรรมและการท่องเที่ยวของอินเดียเป็นประธานการประชุม

On 2-6 October, 2016, Phra Sophonvachirabhorn, Vice Rector for Foreign Affairs of MCU, Acting Director of Dhammaduta College of MCU has given an authority to Asst. Prof. Phramaha Cha-Em Suviro, Assistant to the Rector for Foreign Affairs. He is along with administers of MCU to attend the ASEAN-India Buddhist Connect 2016 in Sarnath/Varanasi and Bodhgaya of India. They are on behalf of Theravada Thai Buddhists to join the meeting as having over 300 persons from 39 countries around the world. The aim of the ASEAN-India Buddhist Connect 2016 meeting is to promote Buddhist cultural tourism.
