วันที่11 พ.ย. 2559 เวลา 09.30 น พระโสภณวชิราภรณ์ (ไสว โชติโก) รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายกิจการต่างประเทศ รักษาการผู้อำนวยการวิทยาลัยพระธรรมทูต ผู้แทนมหาวิทยาลัย พร้อมด้วยผู้บริหาร คณาจารย์ และเจ้าหน้าที่ เข้าร่วมประชุม สมาคมมหาวิทยาลัยพระพุทธศาสนาเถรวาทนานาชาติ ศาสนา ครั้งที่ 4 IATBU (4 International conference Association of Theravada Buddhist University) เรื่อง พุทธศาสนาในโลกปัจจุบัน: โอกาสและความท้าทาย (Buddhism in Modern World: Opportunities and Challenges) ระหว่างวันที่ 10 – 14 พฤศจิกายน 2559 ณ เมืองมาเกลัง (Magelang City) ชวากลาง ประเทศอินโดนีเซีย ซึ่งจัดโดย กระทรวงศาสนา สมาคมมหาวิทยาลัยพระพุทธพุทธศาสนาเถรวาท และสมาคมวิทยาลัยพระพุทธศาสนาในประเทศอินโดนีเซีย (APTABI)

On 10^th-14^th Nov, 2559/2016, there was the 4^th International Association of all Theravada Buddhist Universities Conference which was organized in the first time at Ampel-Boyolali, Central Java, Indonesia. Director of Minister of Religious Affairs of Indonesia gave the opening speech in this conference.

This conference has been organized in different countries such as the 1^st conference was organized in Puppa Mt, Union of Myanmar in 2007, 2^nd conference was organized in Sitagu International Buddhist Academy Union of Myanmar in 2009 and the 3^rd conference was organized in Mahamakut Buddhist University, Salaya, Thailand in 2013, which was to commemoration of 100 anniversary His Holiness Somdet Sangharaj Phra Nyanasamvara.

On this occasion of the 4^th conference, on behalf of the Rector, Most Ven. Prof. Dr. Phra Brahmapundit, Phra Sophonvachirabhorn (Sawai Chotiko), Vice Rector for Foreign Affairs of MCU, delivered a congratulatory message in this conference.

Apartment from Directors, Head of Departments and staff members of MCU and about three hundreds local and foreign participants from different Universities, Colleges and Institutes also attended this conference.

This conference has divided into 6 panels for the academic panel sessions: Buddhist Heritage, Buddhist and Multiculturalism, Buddhism and Social Work, Buddhist Education as Transformative Learning, Pali panel and Indonesian Buddhism.
