วันที่ 3 พฤศจิกายน 2558 เวลา 15.20 น. พระโสภณวชิราภรณ์ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายกิจการต่างประเทศ รก.ผู้ อำนวยการวิทยาลัยพระธรรมทูต มจร พร้อมคณะ ร่วมพิธีมอบพระพุทธรูปหินแกะสลัก ในโอกาสครบรอบ 60 ปี การสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตระหว่างราชอาณาจักรไทยกับสาธารณรัฐสังคมนิยมประชาธิปไตยศรีลังกา ณ บริเวณด้านหน้าพระวิหาร วัดธรรมาราม อยุธยา โดยในพิธีมีนายไมตรีปาละ สิริเสนา ประธานาธิบดีแห่งสาธารณรัฐสังคมนิยมประชาธิปไตยศรีลังกา เป็นประธานการมอบ มีปลัดกระทรวงพระพุทธศาสนาศรีลังกา ในฐานะผู้แทนรัฐบาลศรีลังกากล่าวมอบพระพุทธรูปหินแกะสลัก มีนายสุวพันธุ์ ตันยุวรรธนะ รัฐมนตรีประจำสำนักนายกรัฐมนตรี รับมอบพระพุทธรูปหินแกะสลัก มีพระเทพรัตนากร เจ้าคณะจังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยาเป็นประธานฝ่ายสงฆ์ไทย พระสงฆ์ศรีลังกาเจริญชัยมงคลคาถา จากนั้นร่วมถ่ายภาพหมู่ แล้วเยี่ยมชมพิพิธภัณฑ์พระอุบาลีมหาเถระ ณ จ.พระนครศรีอยุธยา

The carved stone Buddha is gifted to the Government and the people of Thailand by His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka on 3 November 2015 in celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and The Kingdom of Thailand.
