เมื่อ 30 ก.ย. – 4 ต.ค. 2559 พระโสภณวชิราภรณ์ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายกิจการต่างประเทศ รักษาการผู้อำนวยการวิทยาลัยพระธรรมทูต มอบหมายให้ พระครูวินัยธรสมุทร์ ถาวรธมฺโม พร้อมผู้ติดตาม เป็นผู้แทนมหาวิทยาลัย ร่วมงาน “ประชุมผู้นำมหาวิทยาลัยนานาชาติ 2016” จัดโดย สมาคมมหาวิทยาลัยนานาชาติ โฝว กวง ซาน (Fo Guang Shan International University Consortium) การประชุมนี้ มีจุดประสงค์ส่งเสริมการสื่อสารอย่างกว้างไกล และความร่วมมือระหว่างผู้นำมหาวิทยาลัยพุทธศาสนา และการศึกษาพุทธศาสนาที่เกี่ยวกับโปรแกรมของมหาวิทยาลัยทั่วโลก ณ วัดโฝว กวง ซาน จีนไต้หวัน

Prof. Dr. Phrakhruvinaithon Samut Thathong, Lecturer, Faculty of Buddhism, who is together with administers of MCU. They are going to attend the 2016 University Presidents Forum organized by the Fo Guang Shan International University Consortium, which has been held on October, 1-3, 2016 at Fo Guang Shan Monastery, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Republic of China. The goal of this conference is to foster greater communication and collaboration between leading Buddhist-founded universities and Buddhist studies related university programs across the globe.
