วันอังคารที่ ๑๘ ตุลาคม พ.ศ. ๒๕๕๙ เวลา ๑๓.๓๐ น. ณ ห้องประชุมโรงแรมทัชสมุทร กรุงโคลอมโบ ประเทศศรีลังกา พระพรหมบัณฑิต อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยมหาจุฬาลงกรณราชวิทยาลัย (มจร) ในฐานะประธานสภาสากลวันวิสาขบูชาโลก (ICDV) เป็นประธานฝ่ายสงฆ์ โดยร่วมกับประธานฝ่ายคฤหัสถ์คือ นายวิชัยทัศ ราชปักษา รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงพระพุทธศาสนาของศรีลังกา ในการประชุมเตรียมจัดงานวิสาขบูชาโลกครั้งที่ ๑๔ ประจำปี ๒๕๖๐
ในการนี้ มีผู้บริหาร มจร และ พระโสภณวชิราภรณ์ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายกิจการต่างประเทศ รักษาการผู้อำนวยการวิทยาลัยพระธรรมทูต พร้อมด้วยพระแสงเฮือง นรินฺโท, ดร. ผู้อำนวยการกองวิเทศสัมพันธ์ ร่วมงานประชุม ในที่ประชุมประกอบด้วยกรรมการบริหารของสภาสากลวันวิสาขบูชาโลก พระมหานายกะ และปลัดกระทรวงพระพุทธศาสนา ปลัดกระทรวงการคลังและปลัดกระทรวงที่เกี่ยวข้องของประเทศศรีลังกา ที่ประชุมมีมติให้จัดประชุมวิสาขบูชาโลกในหัวข้อเรื่อง “คำสอนพระพุทธศาสนาเรื่องความยุติธรรมในสังคมกับสันติภาพโลกที่ยั่งยืน” ระหว่างวันที่ ๑๒-๑๔ พฤษภาคม ๒๕๖๐ ณ กรุงคอลอมโบและเมืองแคนดี้ ประเทศศรีลังกา โดยมีรัฐบาลศรีลังกาเป็นเจ้าภาพ

Minister of Justice and Buddha Sasana Dr. Wijedasa Rajapaksa and other senor representatives of the government of Sri Lanka also attended this meeting, in Colombo. The selecting of the theme, programme and participants for the UN Day of Vesak celebration has been discussed in the meeting. The 2nd Exco members meeting will be held in Feb, 2017.
