วันที่ 31 ธ.ค. 60 – 1 ม.ค. 61 พระโสภณวชิราภรณ์ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายกิจการต่างประเทศ รักษาการผู้อำนวยการวิทยาลัยพระธรรมทูต เป็นประธานนำคณะผู้บริหาร คณาจารย์ ผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ เจ้าหน้าที่ จาก มจร ร่วมกับ ผู้แทนส่วนราชการ ผู้แทนกรมการศาสนา และผู้สื่อข่าวศาสนา เดินทางจากประเทศไทยไปยังประเทศสหภาพเมียนมาร์ เพื่อเจริญพระพุทธมนต์ข้ามปี คืนวันที่ 31 ธ.ค. และ เช้าวันที่ 1 ม.ค. 61
และวันที่ 1 ม.ค. ร่วมงานถวายมหาสังฆทานแด่พระสงฆ์ 18,000 รูป จัดโดยรัฐบาลแห่งสหภาพเมียนมาร์ มีรัฐมนตรีเป็นประธาน โดยมีประธานฝ่ายสงฆ์คือ Bamaw Sayadaw Dr. Bhaddanta Kumara Bhivamsa, Chairman Sayadaw of State Sangha Maha Nayaka ที่พระเจดีย์ชเวดากอง เมืองย่างกุ้ง ประเทศสหภาพเมียนมาร์

On 1 Dec, 2561/2018, YANGON: Phra Sophonvachirabhorn, Vice Rector for Foreign Affairs of MCU, Acting Director of Dhammaduta College of MCU was a representative of MCU along administers, lecturers and staff of MCU to join the ceremony of reciting the Buddha’s sacred suttas for the new year eve 2018 starting from the midnight to the early morning of the very first day of coming new year, 2018. It is to mark for the Chanting Ceremony of New Year Eve 2018 at Shwedagon Pagoda and Alms Offering to the 18,000 members of Sanghas organized by the Myanmar Government which is led by the Ministers. This event is having State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee led by Bamaw Sayadaw Dr. Bhaddanta Kumara Bhivamsa, Chairman Sayadaw of State Sangha Maha Nayaka committee over the ceremony as well.
